Adult Ballet Class

By popular demand, Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre is excited to offer Adult Ballet Class for the new year. This class is open to adults of all experience levels, from complete beginners to dancers returning to ballet after time away.
Classes focus on classical ballet technique, strength, flexibility, musicality, and mindful movement in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment. Modifications are offered so students can work at their own pace while still being appropriately challenged.

Meet Your Instructor
Emma McGirr
Originally from Ohio, Emma McGirr began her ballet training at The Schrader Youth Ballet. She graduated magna cum laude with a BFA in Ballet from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. Emma danced professionally with Louisville Ballet and Eugene Ballet before joining Nevada Ballet Theatre in 2014.
Her notable repertoire includes Septime Webre’s Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), Alice in Wonderland (Alice), Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan (Wendy) and Blue Until June, Ben Stevenson’s Dracula (Flora), and Cinderella (Cinderella), among others. Emma has performed principal and soloist roles in numerous Balanchine ballets and originated roles in world premieres by Matthew Neenan, Nicolo Fonte, Sidra Bell, and Lauren Lovette.
Emma brings a wealth of professional experience, clarity, and warmth to the studio, making her classes both technically grounded and deeply encouraging for adult dancers.
