Lindsi Dec, Guest Company Teacher

Lindsi Dec is from Fairfax, Virginia. She trained at Washington School of Ballet and on scholarship at Pacific Northwest Ballet School. She joined Pacific Northwest Ballet as an apprentice in 2001 and was promoted to corps de ballet in 2002, soloist in 2009, and principal in 2014.

Ms. Dec has performed as a guest artist with Ballet Hawaii, California Ballet, Corpus Christi Ballet, Dance Arts Theatre, Grand Rapids Ballet, Lafayette Ballet, and Mid-Columbia Ballet.

Emma Capen, Guest Instructor

Emma Capen is a native of Colorado Springs who began her dancing career at the age of 4.  She studied Vaganova technique under German and Valentina Zamuel of the Maliy Theatre of Opera and Ballet and the Royal Ballet of London, as well as character dance from Marina Oreshkevich, formerly of the Moisseyev Folk Dance Company.  Emma also has attended summer intensives in Houston, Denver Kansas City, and Fort Worth and is a current student at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Dance.  Emma has won numerous scholarships and awards through her studies including Denver Ballet Guild, Esther Geoffrey Young Dancer Scholarship, and full-merit scholarship to the Houston Ballet Academy. Emma has been recognized by Youth America Grand Prix for ballet, character, and modern dance including trips to the New York City Finals competition. Emma has partnered with Ivan Putrov, former principal dancer of the Royal Ballet, for select performances such as Paquita, Nutcracker, and Swan Lake. She has previously taught at Zamuel Ballet School in Colorado Springs and is bi-lingual in Spanish.  Emma teaches strong technique and performance in a positive, enthusiastic, and nurturing atmosphere. She believes in focus on continuous improvement and acknowledgement that each dancer is unique with gifts that should be celebrated.
